These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Harrogate Bee Social website, mobile application, digital services, events, group chats, and memberships (together, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About Harrogate Bee Social
Harrogate Bee Social is a member-funded community that brings people together through events, activities, content, conversations, group chats, and partner offers. We curate and organise community experiences and provide a digital platform to support them.
References to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to Harrogate Bee Social.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or over to use the Platform and attend events unless otherwise stated. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet eligibility requirements.
3. Accounts and Membership
3.1 Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
3.2 Membership Model
Harrogate Bee Social operates on a member-funded model. Some features, content, events, group chats, and community areas are available only to members with an active paid membership.
3.3 Free Trials and Promotions
Where offered, free trials and promotions are available to new members only (one per person) and are subject to the terms shown at checkout. Payment details may be required to start a trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your membership will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
3.4 Right to Refuse or Terminate
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or act in a way that harms the community.
4. Paid Memberships, Billing and Cancellation
4.1 Payments
Membership fees are charged in advance on a recurring basis. Prices are displayed at the point of purchase and may change in the future (with notice for existing members where required).
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Paid memberships automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your membership at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
4.4 Refunds
Membership fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where required by law.
5. Events, Activities and Risk
Events Disclaimer (short version): Participation in any Harrogate Bee Social event or activity is voluntary and at your own risk. You are responsible for your own health, safety, and belongings. Harrogate Bee Social is not liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
5.1 Our Role
Harrogate Bee Social acts as an event organiser and community platform. Events take place at third-party venues and may involve third-party suppliers or hosts. We do not own, control, or manage venues and do not supervise activities unless explicitly stated.
5.2 Participation at Your Own Risk
All events, activities, meet-ups, and experiences promoted or organised through Harrogate Bee Social are participated in entirely at your own risk.
We do not provide professional advice, safety supervision, insurance cover for attendees, or guarantees regarding venues, third-party providers, attendees, or activities.
5.3 Personal Responsibility
You are responsible for: - Your own health, safety, and wellbeing - Assessing whether an activity is suitable for you - Following venue rules, instructions, and applicable laws
5.4 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harrogate Bee Social shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, illness, or expense arising from participation in events or activities. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
6. Community Conduct and Group Chats
We aim to provide a welcoming and respectful community.
6.1 Community Standards
You agree not to: - Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against others - Post offensive, misleading, or unlawful content - Use group chats or forums for spam or unauthorised promotion - Disrupt events, discussions, or community activities
6.2 Moderation
We reserve the right to moderate, remove content, restrict access to group chats, or remove users who breach community standards.
6.3 Volunteers
Events may be supported by volunteers who assist with coordination and communication. Volunteers are not employees and do not provide professional supervision or advice.
7. Digital Content, Group Chats and Subscriptions
7.1 Content and Access
Digital content, community posts, and group chats are provided for general information and social interaction. We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, or continuity of any specific feature.
7.2 User-Generated Content
You are responsible for any content you post. By posting content, you grant Harrogate Bee Social a non-exclusive right to use, display, and moderate that content for community purposes.
8. Third-Party Services and Partners
The Platform may include links to third-party websites, services, venues, or partners. We are not responsible for the content, availability, safety, or conduct of third parties. Any interaction with third parties is at your own risk.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, branding, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by or licensed to Harrogate Bee Social. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute content without permission.
10. Privacy
Your privacy matters. Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, available on our website. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read it.
11. App Usage
These Terms apply equally to use of the Harrogate Bee Social mobile application. App store providers and device manufacturers are not responsible for the Platform or its content.
12. Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or change features of the Platform at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
13. Limitation of Liability (General)
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or any liability that cannot be excluded under law. Otherwise, Harrogate Bee Social shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
